An elopement wedding is one of the most romantic love gataways ever. Add a lovely couple, a beautiful venue in the heart of Palermo and all the unexpected splendour this city can offer and the magic is done.
Micheal and Camille
Micheal is Scottish, Camille is French. They met in Guadalupe in 2017, and live in London since 2018. They had never dreamt of an elopement wedding. Micheal proposed at the beginng of 2019 when pandemics was just a word in the books of history. So they started planning their big wedding: a cheerful day, gathering families and friends from all over the world.
Nonetheless, after pandemics started, they realised that their dream wedding would not have been fullfilled, so they decided to wait, until Micheal suddenly decided to ask Camille to elope: no long term plans, “just the two of us”, he told her, and the answer was “let’s do it!”
Palermo, the perfect destination for a romantic elopement wedding
They chose Palermo as their elopement wedding destination, and to elope in December.
They wanted their elopement wedding to be intimate, with a genuine touch of Sicily warming atmosphere together with its flavors and scents. Nonetheless, they didn’t feel like having a flamboyant wedding decor.
Therefore we designed a simple yet refined wedding decor, based on an earthy toned palette and on arched shapes. Nothing screaming “Sicilian wedding”, by the way: we always search for the most unexpected aspects of a culture to be inspired by (you may have another example of this attitude here).
Moreover, we chose the best of what Palermo can offer to a couple for an unforgettable wedding, though it was just for two.
Firstly, the venue. We immediately thought that it had to be Il Giardino di Ballarò. This b&b is in the heart of an antique market. It is a magical place where one can find the perfect intimacy for a romantic elopement. Everything in this historical house was perfect: a romantic fireplace, a cozy dining room and a lush garden, together with beautiful rooms rich of unique art objects.
Secondly, we had to find something exquisite and unique for the outfits of our bride and groom to be. Therefore, the beautiful and dreamy creations of the bridal stylist Morena Fanny Raimondo were the perfect choice for our beautiful Camille, while the elegance of Claudio Italiano’s taylored suits really enchanted us and our groom to be.
The elopement day
And so, that day had finally come. Camille and Micheal had two different rooms to get ready for their elopement wedding. Thus, in the cozy atmosphere of the beautiful rooms of Il Giardino di Ballarò, they enjoyed moments of silence to tune in with their emotions.
Once they both were ready, the beautiful hall of the b&b hosted a funny “first look” moment.
After that, Camille and Micheal enjoyed a few moments together before the ceremony, which was to be held in the garden. They both wished that moment to be really intimate, so we left them exchanging vows alone under the branches of a grapefuit tree.
When the ceremony ended, they both enjoyed the mild temperature Palermo can offer on a cloudy winter day too. So we could reach them for a few shots among the colors of leaves in the garden.
Lunch was served in the cozy dining room of the b&b. There, Camille and Micheal were surrounded by beautiful pieces of art and the flowers and decor we had designed for them, enjoying the special Sicilian dishes prepared by the chef of Agorà Ricevimenti.
After lunch, the garden hosted the wedding cake cutting. Again, the grapefruit tree surrounded Camille and Micheal and the beautiful wedding cake created by Gennaro Filippelli, which perfectly matched the whole decor of the wedding.
The day smoothly passed, leaving us happy and warmed by the deep love Camille and Micheal had for each other. Certainly, those precious moments will always be treasured in their hearts, and enjoyed by all those who could not be there through the beautiful photographs by Gianluca Sammartano.
